APOSTOLIS, Paraskevi - 70, of Toronto, ON, passed away supported by loved ones on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 after an aggressive battle with uterus and bone cancer.
Paraskevi (or Vivi as she was known to friends and family) was born on November 29, 1950 to Anastasios and Angela in the small Greek village of Stilia. In her youth she enjoyed the many wonders of growing up in a rural village surrounded by peace and nature. In her early twenties she set out on a new adventure and left her home, country and parents with little money in her pockets but big dreams and hopes to fulfill. Her adventure led to her immigrated to Canada in 1970.
Shortly after immigrating to Canada Paraskevi met and feel in love with the handsome and charming Nikolaos Apostolis, and after months of dating the two wed in 1972 in Nick’s hometown of Kalamata, Greece. After one year of marriage they had their first child, their son John Apostolis born in 1973, followed by a second son Tom Apostolis in 1978.
Paraskevi was predeceased by her father and mother.
She is survived by her husband Nikolaos Apostolis, two sons John Apostolis and Tom Apostolis, daughter in-laws Julie Apostolis and Michelle Miscampbell, and her four beautiful grandchildren Nicholas Apostolis, Madeline Apostolis, Mason Apostolis and Maverick Apostolis.
Visitation will take place at the DeMarco Funeral Home, Toronto on Friday, August 20, 2021 from 4-9pm. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Greek Orthodox Church of Saints Constantine & Helen (1 Brookhaven Drive, Toronto, ON - Tel. 416-241-2470.
