Agar PeggyAGAR, Margaret 'Peggy' - Passed away peacefully, on her own terms, at The Millwood Retirement Residence on Sunday, August 15, 2021 in her 101st year with many who cared by her side.

Peggy was an only child, the daughter of Garbutt and Winnifred Agar and came to Canada in 1925 at the age of 4 to a newly built home on Inglewood Drive in Moore Park and remained in that home for 83 years when declining health necessitated a move to The Millwood.

She was educated at Whitney Public School, Moulton College and Trinity College, University of Toronto.

Upon graduation Peggy accepted a position at Manufacturer’s Life Insurance Company in the underwriting department and retired  from Manulife at senior management level.

Peggy was a contributor to hospitals and health organizations including the CNIB as her sight declined.

A special thank you to the residents of the Inglewood Drive community from the 1960’s to present times who so kindly participated in making Peggy’s 100th birthday in April a very happy month under the strictest Covid rules. She enjoyed reliving the old memories from  as early as the 1960’s residents equally with the drawings and vitality of the current group who provided a fresh look at her old neighbourhood.

Thank you to each and  every staff member at The Millwood and most particularly to Aubrey, Lucy and Vivian who cared for Peggy with such kindness, gentleness and love for the past 2 years.

Should you wish to remember Peggy please consider the Toronto Humane Society, the Nature Conservancy, or the National Ballet School.
