Brunskole TraudeBRUNSKOLE, Traude (nee RISCHNER)   -  Passed away peacefully on August 14, 2021 at Etobicoke General Hospital at the age of 93.

She was predeceased by her husband Joseph of 58 years in 2013.

Traude emigrated from Austria in 1952 and settled in Toronto where she met her husband and started their family.

She was a longtime employee of Air Canada, Cargo.

After her retirement, she enjoyed keeping up with her colleagues with monthly luncheons of the local Air Canada Retirees group.

She had a lifelong love of swimming beginning with her childhood when she spent long summer days at the city pool in her hometown of Graz. She particularly enjoyed swimming in the lakes of cottage country north of Toronto.

In the past two decades, she kept up her swimming and social life by going to the Elms Community Pool twice weekly until the pandemic closed it. Traude was a loving care giver and always put the needs of her family first.

She loved people and treasured her many friends whose visits and phone calls kept her engaged in her later years.

A loving Mom she will be sadly missed by her daughter Renate (John) and her son Peter (Cindy). She was a dear Oma to Beth, Mary, Matt (Ana) and Candace.

She delighted in her great-grandchildren Victoria and Benjamin, and her step-great-grandchild Lucas.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private memorial was held.

If so desired, donations to Parkinson Canada would be greatly appreciated by the family.
