SINGER, Nancy Ellen - (1952 - 2021) - It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Nancy on Monday, August 30, 2021 at the age of 69.
Devoted mother to Jacob Fox and M'Beth Schoenfeld, and Eli Fox.
Beloved sister of Bruce and Barbara Singer, and Mark and Stacey Singer, and sister-in-law of Ellen Fox.
Dedicated aunt and cousin.
Former spouse of Larry Fox.
Friend to, and beloved by many throughout her life.
Born in Montreal, Nancy moved to Toronto in the 1970s and worked in the City of Toronto's Planning and Housing Departments.
She discovered her passion for social housing and dedicated her life to it for the past 20 years, initially as the executive director for the Kehilla Residential Programme and subsequently as the director of strategic initiatives.
As said by Mayor John Tory, "as a talented leader, she has brought everyone together over one mutual goal: creating more inclusive housing for all.
Toronto is a better, more socially just city because of Nancy's passion and commitments".
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 01, 2021
Donations may be made to Kehilla Residential Programme through the Nancy Singer Memorial Fund.
