Merton LaurenMERTON, Lauren Arlene  -  It is with great sadness that we share that Lauren Arlene Merton passed away suddenly in, her home, on August 28, 2021, at the age of 64.

Lauren was predeceased by her father, mother and sister. Lauren was born on November 22, 1956 in Toronto, ON.

By the time she was 4 years old, her sister Judi and parents Florence and Roy Merton had moved to Port Credit, where she spent her early years attending Riverside Public School and then Port Credit Secondary School, studying business administration.

In her late 20's, Lauren moved to the to the island of Providenciales (known as Provo) in the Turks and Caicos Islands, where she opened up a Scooter rental business with her partner and then later established the first Buy and Sell business for the island.

After 17 years on the island, Lauren made the decision to relocate back to Port Credit, where she became a special events coordinator for the University of Toronto, Mississauga Campus.

She leaves behind her cousins Allan, Noel and David Methven and Jan McMurray, in addition to her many dear lifelong friends she made along the way from her early years in Port Credit to the Turks and Caicos Islands to her current years back in Port Credit.

She loved to make people laugh and everybody has a favorite story or two (or more) about Lornie.

We will all miss our dear friend with her unmistakable laugh and warm heart.

Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, a private Celebration of Life will be held in her honour for close friends and family.

In Lauren's memory, donations can be made to a local women's shelter or other non-profit organization devoted to helping women.
