ECONOMOU, Diamatina 'Matina' Tsami - Our loving mom, sister, daughter, friend, and confidante, Matina Economou, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 4, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones following a courageous battle with cancer.
She fought tirelessly, with grace and dignity, to be with the ones she loved.
Throughout her life, her well-fought journey with cancer, and up until her final moments, she greeted everyone with a smile, laughter, and strength and always kept our bellies and hearts full.
Her joy was contagious, her hands were rarely still. She touched and cared for everything in her world with fierce tenderness.
She had a deep love of life and a firm understanding of what was important—the simplicity of living a life with the ones she loved. She accomplished that every day.
Matina always found peace and solace in nature. Planting a tree in her name would be a wonderful way to celebrate her memory, or a donation to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, who provided a tremendous amount of support through her journey.
She will live on in the hearts of her children, Maria, Melina, and George, her sister Filomena, brother in-law Kosta, and mother Maria. She will fondly be remembered by everyone she touched with her kindness, unconditional support, and love.
Visitation will be held at Bernardo Funeral Homes, Dufferin Chapel, Toronto on Wednesday, September 8th, 2021.
