Bell BettyBELL, Betty Stuart - It is with profound sadness that we share that Betty passed away peacefully on Friday, September 17, 2021 at home with her loving son Allan by her side.

Predeceased by her beloved husband John and her precious daughter Lesley.

Survived by loving sisters-in-law Ivy Brown, and Anne and Betty Grogan.

When Betty emigrated from England she made Canada her home by making a difference. Her tireless devotion to the community she loved earned her the “Mayor’s Seniors Hall of Fame Award” and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal.

Betty enjoyed life, always cherished her family, and was grateful for her treasured circle of friends.

Special thanks to the caring team in the Stroke Unit at Markham Stouffville Hospital, and to Dr. Eileen Lougheed for her exceptionally attentive care and compassion.

Friends will be received on Thursday, September 23rd at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, Markham. Private Funeral Service on Friday, September 24th at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the hospital’s Stroke Unit, through the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation, would be appreciated.
