Montgomery IsabelMONTGOMERY, Isabel   - On Saturday, September 18, 2021, in her 96th year, after a fiercely independent life, Isabel "Peggy" Montgomery, died peacefully after a brief illness at Humber Hospital.

Sister to Betty and Rhoda.

She was the aunt (and a second mom) to Gord (Lisa), Bob (Patti), Craig and Karen (Brad).

A cherished great-aunt to James, Robert, Elizabeth, Graeme, Jesse, Laura and Justin.

Peggy began work at 16 years of age with the Imperial Bank, later CIBC. She rose through the ranks and was named the first female branch manager in Metro Toronto.

After 48 years, Peggy retired from CIBC in 1990.

She then enrolled at the University of Toronto as a 64-year-old first-year student, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1999.

Glebe Presbyterian Church played a large role in Peggy's life.

The many friends she met there created a second family to share her faith and fellowship.

Our thanks to the supportive and caring staff at St. Hilda's for their friendship and care over the past few years, the loudest television set on the 14th floor will no longer blare down the halls with a Leafs or Jays game!

Peggy would often say "I have been very fortunate all of my life".

Those who ever had contact with her feel the same way.
