Thomson DorothyTHOMSON, Dorothy Florence (McKay) - September 16, 1926 - September 17, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce that at age 95 our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed peacefully at Extendicare Port Hope on Friday, September 17, 2021.

Dorothy was born and raised in Toronto where she met her husband Jim.

They were married on October 22, 1949 and celebrated 70 wonderful years together.

They lived in Scarborough for 40 years while raising their two children Debbie and Fred.

With their careers behind them they moved to Markham Swan Lake Village for their retirement years. They had many wonderful years there making new friends and traveling the world. Dorothy loved to travel and once they got home from one trip she couldn't wait toplan the next adventure.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Debbie (Don) Cranston, Fred Thomson, grandchildren Lisa Shkordoff (Thomas James), Heather Scott (Alex), Andrew Thomson, Amanda Thomson (Andrew Vanderkloff), Great-grandchildren Nolan, Brooklyn, Wolfgang and Wesley.

Dorothy's wonderful sense of humor, her smile, her kindness and a little bit of sassiness will be greatly missed. Mom and dad were the perfect dance partners. It is our prayer that they are up in heaven together dancing.

We would like to thank the amazing staff at Extendicare Port Hope for their kindness and compassion for Mom during this time.

Visitation and service will take place at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, markham on Friday October 1, 2021.
