Warnica DonaldWARNICA, Donald - (1933 - 2021) - Donald Warnica passed away peacefully at the Wenleigh in Mississauga, on September 17, 2021.

Don is predeceased by his brother Bill and beloved niece, Susan. He is survived by his brother, John (Pauline) and sister-in-law, Cathie, as well as his nieces and nephews, Anne, David (Carolyn), Mark (Deb), Beth (Matthew), Peter (Mary) and Pamela (Roy).

Don was born in Painswick, Ontario to William A. Warnica and Joyce Carr. He travelled through many countries, took courses in Paris, France and worked for a time in Nigeria, but always called Toronto home.

His chosen career was that of teacher, teaching high school English and French. He took early retirement to explore other options and ended his career as a substitute teacher within elementary schools, in the Parkdale area of Toronto.

He was funny, artistic and to the end, loved books and music. He was always proud of his nieces and nephews, eager to hear news of their antics – always enjoying a good story!

A private family service will follow, at a later date.

Don was a longtime parishioner of St James Cathedral in Toronto. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St James, or a charity of your choice.
