PANKHURST, Catherine Emily (nee JONES)   - Born in Winnipeg July 3, 1916, Kay passed away peacefully at Exendicare Bayview (Toronto) on November 5, 2021 at the age of 105.

After a short stay in Montreal while still a youngster, her family finally settled in Toronto during her teenage years.

After high school, she joined the Bank of Toronto where she met William (Bill) her future husband and companion of 70 years.

Predeceased by Bill and their son Alan, she leaves her loving son David.

Kay was a devoted homemaker and a great cook, who loved to experiment with new recipes. Always the socialite, she had many circles of friends. She loved entertaining and playing cards, and belonged to numerous bridge clubs around Leaside and Don Mills.

As young adults, Kay and Bill were frequent tennis players, and later were longtime members of the Leaside Curling Club almost from its inception. As avid travellers, they enjoyed many vacation trips around North America, the Caribbean, and Europe. Kay is fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and by the clergy and parishioners of St. Augustine of Canterbury.

Family and friends will be received at Pine Hills Cemetery & Funeral Centre, Scarborough, on Thursday, November 11th from 12-1 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Interment to follow. All attendees are required to be fully vaccinated and the vaccination status and ID will be checked prior to the entry to the event.

Special thanks and appreciation go to the caring and devoted staff at Extendicare Bayview who ensured she was always comfortable and attended to.

Donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the charity of your choice.
