Baker IanBAKER, Ian Glen   -  It is with great sadness, we share the passing of Ian Glen Baker (68), born 1953 in Ottawa, ON, and passed peacefully, on November 5, 2021.

Ian was a beloved husband of 34 beautiful years, father, granddad, brother, son, and friend.

Ian was predeceased by his mother Jeana Pritchard and Francis Baker (Ottawa, ON). Survived by wife Sylvia Baker (nee MacDonald), daughters Noelle (Shane) Blum, and Hope (Timothy) Snider.

Also survived by his granddaughter Sierra Blum and soon to be second grandchild (Blum). Dear brother of Claire Flowers, Doug (Pamela) Baker and Susan (Paul) Ozimor.

Will be missed by his loving mother-in-law Anne MacDonald. Many nieces and nephews: Tracey Flowers, Doug Shaw, Cheryl Shaw, Scott Baker, Jenna Ball, Lindsay Ozimor, and James Lee MacDonald. Ian also leaves behind many wonderful cousins and friends he made over the years.

Ian attended Broadview Avenue Public School, Nepean High School, Algonquin College for Cartography and Georgian College for what he would continue to do for many years, Records Management. Ian is a Lifetime Member of the National Street Rod Association, 4th Degree Knight of the Knight of Columbus #10370 and had a passion for photography and genealogy. Ian was extremely fond of his music and played guitar for lengths at a time.

Ian equally loved his classic car, a one-of-a-kind 1931 Model A Coupe and could be seen frequenting local car shows and sharing his vast knowledge of the classic car world.

Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, Barrie, on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place the following day on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at the St. John Vianney Church, 13 Baldwin Ln., Barrie. Intermen, Barrie. Reception to follow.

Donations in Ian's memory can be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or to the Canadian Cancer Society and are greatly appreciated by the family.
