Kosior StanleyKOSIOR, Stanley "Staś" Kosior  -  Passed away peacefully, at home on January 27, 2024, in his 84th year, surrounded by his loving family.

 

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his wife, Cathy; daughter, Anna; son, John; daughter-in-law, Stephanie; and his cherished extended family and friends.

 

He was predeceased by his mother, Wanda Kosior (February 11, 2018); his father, Stanley Kosior (January 22, 1983); and brother, Joseph (October 2, 1971).

 

Stan was born in Port Colborne, Ontario, and grew up in Hamilton.

 

After graduating from a Bachelor of Science program at the University of Toronto, he began a long and dedicated career of teaching high school math and science, starting at Regiopolis College in Kingston in 1961 and continuing at Brebeuf College School in North York from 1968 until his retirement in 1995. 

 

His passion for arts and culture was expressed through the years by being part of the University of Toronto Glee Club, Blessed Trinity Parish Choir and the Polish Heritage Society. He took many trips to Poland to connect with family and to learn the language he loved.

 

He also valued his time volunteering with the RCIA program at St. Joseph Catholic Parish, St. Joseph's Health Centre, Right to Life and the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul. The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Jamie Le, Dr. Trudy MacLean, Dr. Mark Xu, the Bayshore Health care team, and the Home Health team for the tremendous care and support provided for Stan.

 

Visitation will be at the Hart Chapel on Thursday, February 1st from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at St. Joseph Catholic Parish on Friday, February 2nd, at 11 a.m.

 

Donations may be made to honour his memory, to the Canadian Lung Association, National Catholic Broadcasting Council, and The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul.
