Saddleton JohnSADDLETON, John Hamilton  -

January 14, 1938 - February 2, 2024

 

John died peacefully, at home on Friday, February 2, 2024.

 

John was loved so much and will be greatly missed by his sons, John Paul Saddleton of the Bahamas, Mark (Lucy) Saddleton of Richmond Hill, Ontario (and grandchildren, Jessica, Sophie and Henry) and Toby (Nicola) Saddleton of the Bahamas (and grandchildren, Vivian and Georgia); and by his wife, Anne McAllister; stepson, Marcus Gillam (Dr. Francesca Di Paola) and their daughters, Gianna, Siena and Ella; stepson, Gregor Gillam.

 

And by his Australian family, sister-in-law, Maureen Saddleton; niece, Wendy; nephews, Guy, Robert and Phil, and their extended families.

 

John was predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Joyce Saddleton of Richmond, England; his brother, Hugh, Coffs Harbour, Australia; and his twin brother, Richard, Richmond, England. John was a true gentleman, a kind and generous man, a man of many interests and talents, and a consummate host.

 

John will be missed by so many and will leave an indelible mark on all our lives. We are all so much better for having known him.

 

Grateful thanks to the Palliative Care Team at North York General Hospital, in particular Dr. Berlin and Dr Kish, and to Dr. Barua, oncologist at Michael Garron Hospital.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024, 12 – 2 p.m. at The Enoch Turner Schoolhouse, 106 Trinity Street, Toronto, M5A3C6.
