DeFILIPPO, Leonard Paul DeFilippo  -  83, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away peacefully, at home on Friday, April 5, 2024 of natural causes.

 

Len was born on September 12th, to Vito and Marta (aka Pops and Bobbie) in New York City.

After he graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School in 1958, he went on to complete his BA study of Psychology at Windsor University (previously known as Assumption University) in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

 

Subsequently, his graduate work consisted of a MSc in Counselling from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Len worked as a Supervisor and Licensed Counsellor for over 25 years at The Community Counselling Centre in Las Vegas.

 

Throughout his life he was an avid reader and spent much of his off work hours reading, adding to his extensive knowledge of the world. Len was predeceased by his father, Vito; his mother, Marta; his brother, Pat; sister-in-law, Yolanda; and his brother-in-law, John.

 

He will be remembered lovingly by his son, Vito (his spouse, Chantal and grandsons, Felix and Luca); his daughter, Jessica (her husband, Peter and grandsons, Marcus and Kaplan); their mother, Patricia Everitt; his sister, Anita (daughters, Val Marie and Judith); his nieces, Marta (her husband, Richard and children, Adrienne, and Nick), Maria (her husband, Pat and daughter, Marisa); and his nephews, Vito and Pat (his children, Isabella, Sophia, Gianna and Pat Jr.); as well as many other relatives, friends and coworkers.

 

A Burial Service will be held at Palm Mortuary on Eastern Avenue in the future (date To Be Determined).

 

There will also be a Mass dedicated to Len at St. Viator, the church he regularly attended.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Association.
