Marshall JohnMARSHALL, John Frederick  - Peacefully on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Kensington Gardens, Toronto in his 92nd year.

Survived by his loving wife, Joan.

Fondly remembered by his brothers, Peter (Judy) and Robert (Valerie).

Also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

John's long and happy life was not without challenges but with his trademark hard work and demeanour he persevered and succeeded as founder of the J.F. Marshall Company, industry leader in northern apparel and equipment for exploration and activity.

John attended Forest Hill Public School of which he was involved in hockey, football, track and Captain of the Cadet Corp. Due to his many achievements, John's father enrolled him at Pickering College (Newmarket).

He also had an incredible passion for the arts and would collect pieces of art, study them and loved to share them with others. Another love was his wife, Joan.

They were married for many years and had a very loving relationship. Joan would visit with John often celebrating events together and many were fortunate to witness their love for one another.

A special thanks to the staff at Kensington Gardens and his niece Julia Hellyer Herman for all their special care and attention.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, April 14th from 2-4 p.m. at the Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Ave. W.

In memory of John, a donation to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.

"When a lovely flame dies, Smoke gets in your eyes."
