YEATES, Dorothy Anetta Yvonne - Dorothy Anetta Yvonne was the beloved wife of Charles B. Yeates (deceased); Mother to Charles Jr. (deceased); Keith (deceased); and Charlene (Canada), Grandmother to Charles Jayson, Sherrette and Sherelle; Friend, Teacher, Principal, Mentor and most important Child of God.
Her name means “Gift from God” and so she was indeed to many.
Her Church, family and all her “children” aka students were her life’s work and joy. Born in Guyana, married in Trinidad where she raised her family and then retired in Canada, Dorothy was always keen to try and explore new opportunities.
It was part of her lifelong quest for learning and teaching even into retirement.
Also known for her creativity, she enjoyed her craft whether is was sewing, crocheting or making her famous “Crunch” and cheese pies for those she loved.
Dorothy lived out a life of love and faith and she will be sadly missed by family, friends and everyone whose lives she blessed. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
