UPHAM, Don - (WWII Veteran) (1925 - 2021) - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Grandad, Don Upham at the age of 96 on September 3, 2021.

Don was the loving husband to Lois (Kelly) for over 69 years and the father of Deborah (Chris) and Jill (Bruce).

Brother to Peggy Booth of Surrey, BC. Proud grandfather to Pam, Erin (Mark), Jamie (Krysten), Kevin (Kim) and Kelly (Angelo); great grandfather to Madison, Christian, Veronica, Jonathon, Morgan, Darryl, Bailey, Alice and Hank; and great-great grandfather to Cayden.

Born in Vancouver, British Columbia on May 29, 1925, Don joined the armed forces and served in World War II at the age 18. He graduated from UBC in 1950 with a chemical engineering degree.

Don had a distinguished career at Dupont of Canada working in Shawinigan Falls, North Bay, Ajax Works and the Head Office. He settled with his family in Pickering, Ontario in 1969.

Don was a loving family man and known for his great sense of humour, his generosity and being a great handyman. Most of all, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Don also spent a large amount of his time volunteering, being a long-standing member of the Rotary Club of Ajax and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch in Pickering.

He will be greatly missed and will always be remembered. Special thanks to the Sunnybrook Veteran’s Centre staff for their outstanding care of Don during his time there.

Donations to the Sunnybrook Veterans Centre through the Sunnybrook Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Ararngements are entrusted with McEachnie Funeral Home, Ajax, Ontario.
