WEIR, Iona Helen - 1929 - 2018 Peacefully in her sleep at Fudger House on August 28, 2018.
Precdeceased by her mother, Genivieve McKenzie and her father, William Mayberry.
Left behind to mourn are her husband Joseph Weir and her children: Lynda Kirk (Terry), Debbie Peloso (Maurizio), Geneen Hawley, son Gordon Lamont (Alison), grandchildren: Gessica Haase, Ceilidh Lamont, Marco Peloso, Arran Lamont, Joel Lamont, great-granddaughters: Meike Haase and Thea Haase.
Iona, who had a playful nature and loved to sing, was a strong woman who cared for her flock with pride and tenacity. She loved her family and friends at the "Beach" as she rose to become "Queen of the Beach Laundromat".
She sang beautifully right to the end.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful people at Fudger House who cared for Iona during her stay. You gave her a whole bunch of new friends.
Viewing at Giffen-Mack, Main and Danforth, Tuesday, September 4th from 1-4 p.m. and funeral Wednesday, September 5th at 1 p.m.
