Thompson JanTHOMPSON, Janice Mary (nee Dosman) - On Saturday May 23, 2020 Janice Thompson, wife, mother, and very proud nana was taken from us suddenly by heart attack after a brief fight with Amyloidosis and Multiple Myeloma.

She blessed us all with 66 years of love and kindness and passed at her "little piece of heaven," her cottage in Eastbourne (Keswick, Ontario).

On October 25, 1975, Jan married her partner and love Don Thompson. Together they shared their love and joy with their two children Daniel (D.J.) and Jodi, daughter-in-law Pattie Metheral and grandchildren Blake and Delaney Thompson.

Jan was born on January 26, 1954 in Walkerton Ontario and raised by Al and Irene Dosman (both deceased) in Mildmay Ontario. Jan grew up surrounded by the love of her brothers and sisters Dennis, Debra (Bruce Weber), David (Linda), and her twin sister Joan (Brian Vaughan). Janice was also the daughter-in-law to Vern (deceased) and Ruth (Book) and sisters-in-law to Lyn (Robert Griffin), Jan Thompson (Colin Carter) and adored by all of her many nieces and nephews.

Jan worked with the Region of York for 23 years, never once without a smile on her face and a different coat everyday.

Jan was happiest shopping and entertaining at their family cottage in Eastbourne. Visitors were always met with a warm smile and hug, greeted with a "Welcome home" and doted on with endless snacks and good conversation. Before you left, she would always ask "when are you coming back?" so she could do it all over again. She was known for her flair for decorating, planning over-the-top galas and events with whimsical themes and attention to every detail to match the occasion.

Due to COVID-19, a celebration of life will be held at a later date when we can all gather and 'celebrate the magic' that was Jan's life.

We would like to thank the amazing medical team at Southlake Regional Health Centre.

In lieu of flowers, we ask you to consider making a donation in Janice's memory to the Southlake Regional Health Centre or a charity of your choice.
