Butterworth AdamBUTTERWORTH, Adam - It's with broken hearts we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Adam on March 29, 2021 at age 41 years.

Beloved son of mother Mary McKenzie & stepfather Henri Schueler, his father Eric Wynn Butterworth & stepmother Karen Nielsen.

Loved Big Little brother to Elise and Katherine (Richard).

Forever remembered by his nieces Taylor, Natasha, and nephew Logan.

Fondly remembered by his closest friends Jon, Chris, and Andrew.

He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.

Adam was a gentle giant, who was an avid gamer, enjoying both computer games and D&D. He was a fantastic cook.

As a very young child Adam believed himself to be Superman with special powers to help people. During his career in security he often used his negotiating skills to de-escalate stressful situations. It was his belief that talk was the most effective tool of his trade. Among the people he helped was a homeless man in crisis. For talking this person down from an overpass-arch, Adam was awarded a City of Toronto Medal for going “above and beyond” and saving a life.

Recently unable to work due to COVID, Adam enrolled as an adult-ed student to prepare for college. He was excited about his success in these courses and was looking forward to his future and starting a new career in computers.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations in memory of Adam to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or St Joseph Hospital would be appreciated by the family.

Due to the new covid-19 lock-down we won’t be having a gathering at this time but will arrange a celebration of life when we are able to do so safely.
