Franklin BettyFRANKLIN, Betty Jane Wright - Betty Jane Wright Franklin, lovingly known as “Nana” and “Sugar” was born August 14th, 1930, in Benton County, Tennessee. Betty died on October 9th, 2021, at the age of 91 after a courageous and dignified 14-month battle with cancer.

She was surrounded by her husband John, their children and grandchildren in the comfort of her son and daughter-in-law’s home in Aurora, Ontario, Canada.

Betty is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 62 years, John Burr Franklin and her loving children Wes and daughter-in-law Kay-Lee Franklin, daughter Katina Franklin, son Randy Franklin and her younger sister Mary Nell Miller.

Nana will be greatly missed by her adoring grandchildren Lexa, Justin, Ashtyn and Peyton Franklin and Sean Reza. Betty was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and mother-n-law.

She was Nana to whomever she met and will be fondly remembered for her famous apple butter, delicious baked goods, her “Betty style” of sage advice and her “Betty-ism” sayings. She was a devoted Church member at Oakwood Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee and Bay Harbour United Methodist Church in League City, Texas.

Nana Betty will be remembered for always offering a helping hand to those in need, especially for her crocheting of hundreds of beautiful newborn baby hats for underprivileged families. She will be greatly missed by so many.

The family would like to thank Dr. Tommy Bacher for his unwavering help and guidance in Nana’s care over the past few months and to Michael Goitanich and Emma Rezaei for their hands on love and care of Nana and to Zac Cowl for his extra set of hands anytime he was needed for the 9 weeks Nana was here in Canada.
