Statton VioletSTATTON, Violet Elizabeth  - Our mother has left us to become her energetic self once again.

She passed away on December 28, 2017, at the age of 81, not long after watching "The Sound of Music" comfortably in her home in downtown Toronto.

How beautiful it is to think that you left this earth listening to the angelic voices of your daughter-in-law's favourite movie and seeing the romanticism of your past and of your life.

Your own love story would be legendary. Your love, Bruce Blain, will miss streetcars simply to be seen by you and to make you laugh. Although you would tell him to stop his nonsense a myriad of times Mom, boy did he love his little redhead. Our mother Violet was simply a powerhouse.

She gave everything to her family, home, work, friends and community. Everything. We believe that our mom could have run an entire corporation in a different time and circumstance. She was that determined, that strong, that focused. She was both unflinchingly stern and beautifully loving.

Her smile could shine for miles. She made everything exquisitely beautiful for us all. We ache for the loss of everything that was you, Mom. But please know that we are happy that you are with the love of your life now and our David, your beloved first born son.

We are comforted to think that they both greeted you with smiles in their hearts and on their faces and with open arms to greet you for us all. We love you so much Mom.

Please feel free to join us, daughters Deborah, Darlene and Lisa and the rest of the family.
