ZIZEK, Steve - April 24, 1938 - April 28, 2018
Passed away peacefully at his home in his sleep following a valiant battle with cancer.
He has joined his beloved late wife Mary in heaven.
Loving and proud father to Steve Jr. and his wife Helena and Helen Babic and her husband John. Dear "papa" to Emily, Evan and Erik.
rother to Tony, Lojze and the late Mike, Slavko and Ignac. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his extended family and friends here and in his native Slovenia. Steve enjoyed a full and happy life here in Canada. He was a hardworking and successful independent businessman.
With his outgoing and engaging personality, he found many immediate and lifelong friends both personally and professionally. Steve cherished tending to his garden and spending time at the family cottage in Georgian Bay.
The church and his faith were an important part of his life as well.
A special note of thanks to the doctors, nurses and medical staff at Mississauga Trillium and also Princess Margaret.
Family and friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W., Etobicoke, on Wednesday, May 2nd from 2 to 5 and 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held on Thursday, May 3rd, 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Etobicoke.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations to any charitable organization supporting the ongoing fight against cancer would be appreciated.
