SARANTOPOULOS, George - Surrounded by the love of his family, George passed away on July 27, 2018 at the age of 93.
He will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 58 years Antonia (née Koliopoulos) and their children, Catherine (Dino), Angela (John), Peter (Paulina) and Gary (Brian).
He was the proud grandfather to Nicholas, George, Antonia, Alexia, Constantine and Sofia.
He will be missed by his two brothers Paul and Bob and is predeceased by his beloved late brother Fanis. He was the loving son of the late Katerina and Pantelis.
As the first Greek Optician in Toronto he founded Modern Optical and subsequently Optika, 50 years ago.
Through hard work and determination the business grew to additional locations in the City of Toronto. That legacy will be carried on by his adoring children.
Friends may visit the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mt. Pleasant Rd., on Tuesday, July 31st from 3-8 p.m. Funeral service in the chapel on Wednesday, August 1st at 11:30 a.m. followed by burial.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Odette Cancer Center at Sunnybrook Hospital.
