      Ontario Junior Hockey League, Whitby Fury Junior A Hockey Club, in conjunction with Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, invite the community to sign a guestbook of condolence at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby in memory of the players and team personnel who lost their lives in Humboldt, Saskatchewan.

    The book will be available daily from  9 a.m. - 8 p.m. until Monday, April 23rd, at which time the book will be sent to the OJHL offices to be sent to the team in Saskatchewan

Hockey sticks will be donated to support minor hockey in our community.

WEISMAN, Shirley Alexandra (nee Sparks) - November 25, 1935 – June 9, 2017

Shirley passed away peacefully at the home of her sister Susan (Harry) Hall in her 82nd year.

She was a graduate registered nurse from the Atkinson School of Nursing at the Toronto Western Hospital (1957). Shirley also graduated from the Ontario College of Art with an Associate in Drawing and Painting, Printmaking and Stained Glass (1964).

 

Durovski BoshkoDUROVSKI, Boshko - Peacefully passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017 in his 82nd year.

Loving and devoted husband to Petra for 57 years.

Loving father to Elisa Sacratini and Nancy (Ed Teixeira). Cherished Dedo to Amanda, Nicholas, and Cassandra.

Predeceased by his siblings Zoran and Stevo survived by his sister Savica.

Peacefully passed away with his family by his side on Saturday July 8, 2017 at Fosterbrooke LTC at the age of 82 years.

Arscott LeslieARSCOTT, Leslie George  - (October 19, 1925 - July 8, 2017) - 

Suddenly on July 8th, 2017, in his 92nd year.

Beloved husband of Thea for 63 years.

Cherished father of Beverly (Earl) MacLean, Sharon Arscott, Christopher (Karen) Arscott and Camille (Peter) Strazdins.

Leslie will be missed by his eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

 

Carter ReginaldCARTER, Reginald "Reg" - Passed in peace on Saturday July 8, 2017 at the age of 85.

Survived by his wife and devoted companion of 58 years, Sally. Remembered with love by children Debbie and John (Shirley) and his monkeys Carly, Sarah, and Caitlin.

Fondly missed by his brother Tommy (Patricia). A member of St. Paul's United Church in Ajax and a well-known renaissance man, Reg was also a lover of black tea, classic Western films, football, nature and making others laugh.

Sincere thanks to the staff at the Oshawa Hospital Dialysis Unit and Palliative Care for their support.

Peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital, on Saturday, July 8th, 2017, in her 94th year.

Now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband Mack.

Survived by her sister Irene Ross (the late Doug) and brothers Paul and Robert Porayko.

Predeceased by her sister Olga Burnett (the late Leo) and brothers John (Eileen) and Gary Porayko (the late Sandra).

Beloved and loving Aunt to Karen Patrick (Bill), Jeff Ross (Eva), Marty Ross (Candis), Mary Jayne Feeley (Brian), Art Giroux (Ronnie) and David and Cathy Porayko.

   

Rideout JoshRIDEOUT, Josh  - Passed away on Saturday July 8, 2017, at the age of 28.

Beloved son of Judy and Ron.

Loving father of Austin.

Brother of Jason (Tammy), Cassandra (Jeremy), Jesse, and Chelsea.

Josh will also be greatly missed by his extended family and many friends.

 

FRENETTE, Ken  – Longtime resident of Bathurst NB – residing in Bowmanville, ON since 2001.

Passed away peacefully in Bowmanville on July 8, 2017 at the age of 85 with family at his side.

Passionate contributor and participant in both minor hockey and baseball in Bathurst. Founder and member of the Bathurst Sports Hall of Fame. Ken enjoyed golf and bowling in his spare time.

 

TOMLINS, Mark Edward  - (Boston Bruins' #1 Fan)

After a long, courageous battle with cancer, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2017 at the age of 54.

Predeceased by parents Edward and Doris Tomlins.

 

McGIBBON, Roy Davidson  - At Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, at the age of 94, on July 7, 2017.

Served in the Canadian Navy in WWII, then following the war joined the Toronto Fire Department. Retired from the fire department after a 39-year career, retiring as District Chief.

He enjoyed fishing, golf and tennis.

Survived by his loving wife Madeline, his daughter Patricia (Jim) Tucker, daughter-in-law Nancy McGibbon and seven grandchildren Mark ("Pina"), Karen (James), Christie (Brian), Jeff, Brad (Carol), Jennifer, Mike and great-granddaughter Olivia.

 

MILLER, Robert Stephen 'Steve'  - It is with broken hearts that the family announces Steve’s peaceful passing at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa on Friday, July 7, 2017 at the age of 58, after a valiant battle with cancer.

Beloved husband and best friend of Cyndi.

Loving and devoted father of Jordan (Sarah) and Nicolle (Patrick). Cherished and proud Grampy of Quinn, Logan, Courtney, Wesley and Jaden.

Peacefully at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital in Orillia, ON, leaving loving wife Dorothy, son James and wife Barbara, son Kenneth and wife Valerie, and daughter Janice.

Loving Grandfather to Curtis, Sarah, Kerry and Gordon.

 

MACKLIN, Robert  - On July 7, 2017, Bob died peacefully at Northumberland Hills Hospital, Cobourg, at the age of 77, surrounded by loved ones.

Survived by Sandra, his beloved wife of 55 years.

Loving wife of the late Thomas Tenody and proud mother of her four children: Eric and Jennifer; Charlotte and Darrell; Henry; Irene and Peter.

Caring grandmother of Riaz and Kristina, Aleya and Allan; Erika, Keegan; Ashley; and great grandmother to Xavier and Mia.

Born during war torn Europe, Eva-Maria immigrated to Val D’Or, Quebec and married Thomas Tenody in November of 1954.

Frances (nee Inwood), beloved wife of the late Robert Lindsay of Gravenhurst.

Loving mother of Brian Lindsay and his wife Cathy of Port Perry, Mike Lindsay and his wife Rosalynne of Holland Landing, and Steve Lindsay and his wife Vanessa of Scarborough.

 

THOMAS, Madeline Cavell (Noah) –  Born March 5, 1923 - Madeline Thomas, long time resident of Whitby, Ont.

Passed away July 6, 2017 at the age of 94.

For her last few years she was lovingly cared for at the Carriage House in Oshawa and then Case Manor in Bobcaygeon.

Madeline was the daughter of the late Aletha and Harry Noah Sr.

Peacefully at Warkworth Place Nursing Home on Wednesday July 5, 2017 at the age of 103.

Predeceased by his loving wife Edith, parents Frances and Lloyd Ring, sisters Vivian (Ercell) Nickerson, Helen (Don) Prosser, Irma Ring and brother Selwyn (Pauline) Ring.

Loving father of Theodore “Ted” and his wife Faye Ring.

Devoted grandfather to Julie Ring and her husband Phil Rubin, Linda Ring and her husband Craig Farrington and Glenn Ring and his wife Carla and great grandfather to Connor, Aidan, Madison and Daniel.

Will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews and their families.
