It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Glen Stephen Hopkins, age 65, of Oshawa, Ontario on Wednesday, February 8, 2023.

He is survived by his devoted wife and partner, Kim, of 45 years, and his loving children Hilary (Andrew) and Alexandra.

Cherished grandfather of Catherine and Liam.

The heart and soul of his family, he was a loving husband, incredible dad, grandfather and a loyal friend. He was known for his tender heart, gracious charm and cheeky sense of humour.

His magnetic personality and smile drew everyone to him. His positive attitude and comforting presence will be missed by all that knew him. His love for his family was immeasurable.

A devoted and engaged father and grandfather who always had treats in his pockets, he will continue to be their number one fan and supporter. His family will miss their biggest cheerleader.

He always had a kind word and welcoming smile for everyone he met or shared his presence with. His caring and supportive nature allowed people around him to know they could lean on him. His courage, determination and charm defined him.

To know him was to love him as witnessed by his loyal friendships with childhood friends and former colleagues. Most importantly, his acts of kindness have touched many lives. He loved unconditionally and was the fierce protector of those he loved.

He has always been, and will continue to be a pillar of strength for his family. His unwavering determination and resilience throughout his journey with his condition has made him a hero to all those who knew him. His humour, humble ways, gentle smile and kindness will live on forever through all of us.

We were very lucky to be able to spend his remaining time together, talking about the good times. He will be greatly missed by his extended family and friends.

A celebration of life for Glen will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, Oshawa, Ontario. A reception to follow will occur.
