Osak KarenOSAK, Karen - Peacefully at home on Thursday, January 21, 2021, Karen left us.

57 years young, she had bravely battled MS for over 25 years.

Karen is predeceased by her father, Sam, and is survived by her mother, Ruth, and her siblings Lisa, Paul (Megan) and Diane (Steve Hurowitz).

Karen was the ever-cool aunt to Shannon, Liam, Samara and Julia.

We are all heartbroken to lose her. The youngest of 4 children, Karen uniquely inserted herself into the family dynamic and in so doing became affectionately known as The Brat - a nickname she wore with great pride.

In a family of neat freaks, Karen was oblivious to order and organization. She had a razor- sharp wit and there was never a situation for which she could not find a suitable quote from The Flintstones, Get Smart or The Simpsons.

Karen proudly worked for CBC in media sales for almost 20 years and brought her signature humour and strong interpersonal skills to her team.

Karen had a strong social conscience and generously provided support and guidance to others. She was fiercely independent and insisted on living her life completely on her own terms. Notwithstanding the advanced stage of her disease, Karen continued to work full time and live unassisted in her own apartment.

A special thanks to her wonderful friends who went above and beyond, allowing Karen to fully enjoy her life as she wanted, including Craig Pinder, Neil Duggan, Rob Timlin, Greg Hogarth and her fabulous neighbours at 515 Rosewell, Marcie Hughes, Beverly Kavanagh and Louise Davison.

A service will take place on Monday, January 25, 2021

Memorial donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, 416-922-6065 or the Daily Bread Food Bank, 416-203-0050 would be greatly appreciated by the family.
