Borneman BobBORNEMAN, Robert 'Bob' James - Bob passed away, peacefully on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie at the age of 83.

Beloved husband of Shirley Borneman for 55 wonderful years.

Loving father of Mark (Jodi) and Anne-Marie (Marc) and cherished grandfather of Lor, Leah and Emma.

Bob was born in Toronto to Albert and Hilda Borneman. Preceded in death by his brothers Gerald and Ronald and his sisters Georgina and Sue-Ellen.

Bob will be missed for his generous, kind hearted nature and his jovial smile. Bob’s passion for automobiles began with a red 1950 Ford convertible and continued throughout his life, coming full circle with a new red Ford Mustang convertible.

Bob loved being at his cottage and fishing and boating on the Muskoka River. A lifelong hockey fan, as a teenager, Bob used to watch the Maple Leafs practice during his lunch hour. He was with the University of Toronto Press for over 30 years.

He met the love of his life at age 15 at a chance meeting at Leslie Park in Toronto. He returned a handkerchief to Shirley and was smitten with her from the first day.

A celebration of his life is planned for later this summer at his home. Arrangements entrusted with Andrews funeral home, Brampton.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society, or The Alzheimer’s Association.
