COHEN, Marvin - Passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, while gardening at his beloved Muskoka cottage.
Devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, friend, step-father and grandfather, he is lovingly remembered for his inimitable humor and wit, sharp mind and gentle, warm and dignified temperament.
An accountant by profession, he was senior founding partner at Stern, Cohen Accountants and was as meticulous and shrewd as he was unbendingly honest and creatively unconventional.
Born in 1937, "Moishie" grew up in the Jewish community of Toronto and graduated from Harbord Collegiate high school - where he developed into a basketball star.
A proud Canadian and Jew, he went on to play for the Canadian team at 3 successive Maccabias - the Jewish Olympic games - in Israel. Handsome, elegant and suave to his last day, he was married for 55 years to Israeli-born singer, author and documentary producer Malka Marom.
His loving constancy, unflinching support and sage counsel was a foundation upon which she achieved her great success and made significant contributions to Canadian multiculturalism.
A true aesthete and a great believer in science, he loved birds, plants and chipmunks and died peacefully among them.
