BERTAO, Jayson - (April 22, 1982 - April 19, 2021) - It is with deep sorrow and the heaviest hearts that we share the passing of our brother Jayson.
Survived by his loving father, João, and two beloved brothers, Kevin and Bryan (Bree).
He leaves behind his Godfather and dear friend Luis (Silvia), his cherished family, Avo Filomena, Tia Delia, Tia Maria (Ivo), Godmother/Tia Leonor, cousins Michael (Nicole) their children Lukas and Evan, cousin Christina (James) their children Hunter and Eli, cousin Melissa (Steve) their children Kyra and Ethan, cousin Linda (Carlos) their children CJ (Godson) and Manuel, and cousins Nelson (Alyssa), Steven (Jessica), Leonor (Otto), and Amanda.
He will also be missed by his lifelong friends.
Due to Covid restrictions a private service for immediate family will be held. He will be cremated and a celebration of life will proceed when restrictions are lessened. Details will be given at a later date. Arrangements entrusted with Ridley funeral home, Etobicoke.
Jay was a two-time cancer survivor, but he is defined by his big smile, his joy of life, his passion for adventure, his kindness, his love for the Toronto Maple Leafs, WWF, Adam Sandler movies, and superheroes.
