Fong LaiFONG, Lai Fong - It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Lai Fong Fong on May 18, 2021 in Richmond Hill, Ontario at the age of 92.

Lai Fong was predeceased by her husband, Lan Yuk Fong, in 1999 and daughter Faye Chow.

Lai Fong is survived by her brothers, Man Tin Kwan (Richmond Hill) and Hoi Quan (Winnipeg), sisters, Li Juan (Vancouver) and Li Lian (China), her children Hing Hin Fong (Jenny), Chi (Wanda), Bik Yuk, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born September 1st, 1928 in Kaiping, China, Lai Fong was one of eight siblings. Married at 19, Lai Fong raised her children Hing, Bik, Faye, and biological son, Chi in Hong Kong and China.

After immigrating to Canada in 1967, Lai Fong spent 4 years in Moose Jaw and 42 years in Winnipeg where she was an active member of the Chinese United Church.

In 2013, she made the move to Toronto and formed new connections at her retirement condo. Well-known for her delicious jung, bao, and soups, Lai Fong was always a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be fondly missed and forever remembered by friends and family.

A funeral service for immediate family will be held on Wednesday, May 26th, 2021 in Markham. Interment will follow in Winnipeg, MB.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Toronto Western Hospital or Mackenzie Health Hospital.
