Nitsopoulos VasiliosNITSOPOULOS, Vasilios (Tsile) - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father Vasilios who peacefully went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 5, 2021, surrounded by family at home.

Vasilios was born in Vevi, Florina, Greece, on October 9th, 1924, the son of Yane Nitsopoulos and Madga Rapos (stepfather Bladge Rapos).

He resided in Greece until the age of 42 at which point he immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1966 with his family. He worked for many years at the family run Honeycrust Bakery to build a better life in Canada.

Vasilios lived a full, happy life and always made his family his first priority.

Predeceased by his beautiful and loving wife Maria of 71 years.

Forever remembered as a great father to his four daughters; Sitsa (Danny), Stogianna (late Tom), Vangie (Tony) and May (Chris).

Cherished Dedo to his 15 grandchildren: Bill, Louie (Natasha), Danny (Ana Laura), Peggy (Joseph), John (Olga), Tony (Elaine), Tom (Genie), Mary (Louie), Jeremy, Dave (Kim), Ryan (Laurisa), Marie, Tania, Kristin (Derek), and Louie (Maha).

Treasured Dedo to his 27 great-grandchildren: Stephanie, Eleni, Trina, Chelsea, Jordan, Dylan, Hailey, Ana Maria, Danny Jr., Leo, Evan, Alexandra, Andon, Melina, Adriana, Tommy Jr., George, Lucas, Grace, Mariana, Ryan, Lucie, Andreas, Melanie, Christopher, Alexander, and Sophia.

Vasilios will also be sadly missed by his siblings Jerry (Dika), late Tony (Margaret), Chris (Carol) and the late Frosa (Deane). He will always be remembered by his sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, extended family, and friends.

The family would like to thank Vasilios’ Personal Support Workers, Harriet and Barnaba, for their outstanding care and support.

Vasilios’ family will receive visitors at Highland Funeral Home, Scarborough on Tuesday, September 7th. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church (1385 Warden Avenue) on Wednesday, September 8th, 2021. Burial to follow.
