CHRISTANTE, Veni - (May 18, 1928 – September 26, 2021)
Passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 26, 2021, in his 93rd year.
Beloved husband of his late wife Mary for 57 years.
Cherished father of Daniel and Michael.
Loving uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews in Canada and the USA. Son of the late Lorenzo and Maria (nee Cristofoli).
Predeceased by his brother Don (Anna) and sister Evelyn (Louie).
For over 42 years, Veni enjoyed a successful career with the Canadian Standards Association (CSA).
From his early days as a junior lab technician in training, he progressed in the company ranks to become the Corporate Secretary. In recognition of his many years of service, when he retired he was presented with a computer.
He taught himself the many skills needed to navigate the digital world to the point where he was creating detailed spreadsheets to keep track of his online trading.
He loved watching sports, especially baseball and hockey. He was always hopeful that the Stanley Cup would once again find its way into the hands of the Maple Leafs. In later years, he planned his day's events around the Blue Jays game schedule.
To say that his passing has left an emptiness in our hearts is an understatement. His talent for storytelling, his wonderful sense of humour and his wise counsel will be truly missed.
Arrangements are entrusted with Kane-Jerrett funeral home.
If you wish to send flowers, please ask the florist to deliver them to the funeral home by 5 p.m. Thursday September 30th.
