Caverly RobertCAVERLY, Robert Alfred- September 1, 1957 - September 26, 2021

Rob passed away early in his 65th year at Markham Stouffville Hospital after a short illness.

He is survived by his brother David, sister-in-law Joana, nieces Tatiana and Rebecca and pre-deceased by his parents Stanley and Elsie.

Rob lived a life that started out full of promise.

As a young man he was an exceptionally bright fellow with a remarkable memory.

He was known by family, friends and neighbors as the guy who could fix anything and who seemingly knew how anything and everything worked. He was also thoughtful, caring, and considerate in various ways.

Unfortunately, Rob was diagnosed as suffering from Schizophrenia in his late 20’s. Although there were ultimately extended periods where medication was effective, there were also dark periods where it was not.

Later in his life, one thing led to another and to a growing list of increasingly difficult health challenges. During his last three years Rob resided at Woodhaven Long Term Care in Markham.

We wish to express our sincere thanks to the entire team of exceptional people at Woodhaven Long Term Care for the excellent and compassionate care you provided to Rob over these last three years, even while trying to cope with a pandemic. All of you should be proud that in addition to providing excellent care; each and every day you increase the quality of life of your residents by the warm and caring ways that you interact with them. Thank you.

In view of the pandemic there will be no visitation. A “close family only” graveside ceremony will be held on Tuesday October 5, 2021, at St John the Baptist Norway Anglican Church. (A private cremation will take place at a prior date.)

In lieu of flowers, donations to (IAM) Institute for Advancements in Mental Health (www.iamentalhealth.com ), or Markham Stouffville Hospital (www.mshf.on.ca), or the charity of your choice would be most welcome..
