Bierema JacobaBIEREMA, Jacoba Anna Roelfina 'Anne' (nee Verlind) - It is with sadness that the family Anne Bierema announces her passing on October 30, 2017 after a courageously-fought battle with cancer.

Anne was born in Wassenaar, the Netherlands, in 1940 and moved to Canada with her family in 1951. After stays in Halifax and Quebec, the family settled in Agincourt, Ontario and it was there a few years later that she met Sam, her future husband.

They were married in 1962 and moved to Mount Albert and then to the farm in Zephyr where they raised two children – Jerry (Maureen) of Toronto and Betty Laxson (Gord) of Utterson. She was grandmother to Laura (Luc), Christopher and Lennox (Kerry) and great-grandmother to Starla.

After selling the farm in 1987, Sam and Anne retired to Lindsay – eventually settling in the Walnut Grove apartments. Both were active members of the St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church community and on the dart teams at Walnut Grove.

Friends and Relatives are invited to call at the STODDART FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE 24 Mill Street, Lindsay K9V 2L1 (705-324-3205) on Monday, November 6th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Funeral Services will be on Tuesday 11:00 am at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on 40 William St. N. in Lindsay.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Cancer Society. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Condolences to the family may be left online at stoddartfuneralhome.com.
