TAYLOR, Marian Judith 'Judy'   - (July 9, 1940 - December 7, 2020)

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Marian Judith Taylor (nee Abbott, Owen) after a long struggle with dementia.

Judy leaves behind Robert (Bob) Taylor, her high school sweetheart and love of her life husband of 62 years.

Loved and cherished mother to Susan (Alan), Maelynne (Jeff) and Cheryl (Eric).

Adored Mama to Bethany and James and Grama to Nicolas.

“Aunt Judy” to Heather (Gary) and their children Matthew and Aaron.  Godmother to Allaurian  (Trakas) Cousins.  Predeceased by her parents Glenn and Marion Owen (nee Kight).

Judy was raised in Uxbridge where her love story with Bob began.

Their path started at the Uxbridge high school which led them on adventures to Elliot Lake, Sudbury, Blind River, Ottawa, Virginia, bringing them full circle to Uxbridge, and finally settling in Courtice.

Judy’s volunteer work was extensive.  The list is boundless.  She participated in all aspects of her girls’ lives which led her to be Girl Guide Commissioner, Leader of CGIT, and always on the go with the kids. Judy was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She served her Chapter as Worthy Matron and in the Grand Chapter of Ontario she served as an appointed Start Point Officer in the 1992-1993 year.

The family would like to thank Judy’s dedicated caregivers at the Wynfield in Oshawa for their care and dedication, especially during the pandemic.  We will be forever grateful.

Due to Covid-19, a Celebration of Life and Interment for Judy will be held at a later date.

For those who wish, donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Durham Region are appreciated.
