BOYLE, Alma Olivia Eileen Boyle   - Passed away peacefully at Markham Stouffville Hospital on Tuesday June 29, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones.

Alma will be dearly missed by James, her loving husband of 50 years; her children, Jason (Danielle), Brent (Shelley), Samantha (Bryan) and seven grandchildren Tyler, James Blake, Ryan, Olivia, Isabella, James and Evan.

She will also be missed by her two brothers, Patrick (Diane) and Eric (Ellyn).

She is predeceased by brothers Joseph, Sean and Allen.

Alma was born on July 9, 1948 in Ballycotton, Ireland to parents Richard and Marjorie Daly.

At the age of 11, Alma moved to Canada, settling in the Montreal area, where she eventually met the love of her life, James Boyle and her best friend, her sister from another mister, Pat Lavers.

In 1984, the family moved to Markham, Ontario where they fell in with the right crowd, the Fincham Gang, with whom they shared many adventures.  Alma always said her proudest accomplishment in life is her three children and seven grandchildren.

She loved them unconditionally.

Whether it was hosting parties at Christmas or birthdays, planning trips abroad or just catching up over the phone, family was everything to Alma.

Alma’s latest challenge, pancreatic cancer and interstitial lung disease, was met with the same passion, vigor and spirit.  For the past year, she faced these illnesses with unbelievable courage and strength and kept a positive attitude up to the very end.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, when COVID restrictions are lifted sufficiently, to allow us to appropriately honour Alma and all of her life’s achievements.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that a donation be made to Covenant House or the Canadian Cancer Society in honour of Alma.
