HURLEY, Avis Marion - (1929 - 2021) - It is with deep sorrow and grief that we inform you of the death of Avis Hurley on Tuesday, August 24th, 2021.
Avis was a beautiful soul who loved her family dearly and cared for others selflessly. She gave of herself and time freely to others, always willing to help anyone in need. Her generous spirit will be remembered by all who encountered her. Even when dementia stole her mind, her kindness always shone through.
The last year was particularly hard on her. During that time when she could not remember her immediate family members, she always remembered to pray. It was a remarkable sight to walk into her room and hear her in deep prayer. She was a strong believer to the end.
The memories of Mom will always be cherished. She left a lasting impact with many shared lessons.
Left to mourn is her only child Debra, granddaughter Nathalia, her son-in-law Sherwin and her new great grandson Hendrix. Mom also leaves behind her only sister Elma, nieces, nephews and many family and friends in Grenada, Trinidad and the U.S.
Mom loved her adopted countries of Trinidad and Canada, but her heart always remained in her homeland, Grenada.
