LAFONTAINE, Roger Gerard Lafontaine  - April 3, 1934 – September 4, 2021

It is with the deepest of sorrow and heaviest of hearts we announce the sudden passing of Mr. Roger Gerard LAFONTAINE, peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on September 4, 2021 surrounded by family and loved ones.

Cherished and beloved husband of 26 years to the late Bonnie Lafontaine (Graham).

A treasured and loving father to the late Rick Lafontaine, Michelle Whiteley (Darrell), Jackie Franssen (Leonard), John Lafontaine and beloved step-father to Jamie Jeffs (Anita), Brett Jeffs (Shelli) and Jennifer Rose (Paul).

Adored grandfather to Rick Jr., Gord (Ashley), Kyle (Merlys), Shari (Tyler), Jeffery (Sarah), Ryan (Caitlin), Nathaniel (Katherine), Matthew (Katie), Grahame, Tommy, Max, Devon and Sam.

Roger will be fondly missed by his 14 great grandchildren and his many friends from the Wilmot Creek Community, Amica Whitby and the Lions Club.

Roger is reunited in heaven with his late wife Bonnie, son Rick, great-grandson Jacob, parents Odilon and Alice, sisters Jeanne Mance, Gertrude and Rita, brother Rene and the many family, extended family members and friends who passed before him.

Funeral arrangements with Newcastle Funeral Home on Saturday September 18, 2021.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa and Amica Whitby for the extreme professionalism, dedication and compassion they demonstrated while caring for Roger.
