JOHNS, Alice Adelle (nee Burr) Johns - Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on October 30th, 2021, at the age of 89.
Survived by her sister, Hazel Warren, daughter Patricia Johns-Wilson and son-in-law, Stew Wilson, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sisters Phyllis, Helen and Joyce.
Alice will be deeply missed by her friends and family.
Born in Kincaid, Saskatchewan, Alice loved to see new places, and worked in Vancouver, BC, and Houston, Texas, before joining External Affairs Canada. Her work took her to Brazil, where she met her husband, Doug Johns, and later to Rome and Moscow.
After leaving External Affairs, they purchased a tourist camp in Kenora, Ontario.
Life then took Alice to Dryden, Belleville and finally to Oshawa, Ontario.
After retiring, Alice was an avid bridge player and volunteer for many years at the Oshawa Senior Citizens’ Centre Northview Branch.
No visitation will be held at this time.
