Dickson RobertDICKSON, Robert Alexander Dickson   -  April 20, 1945 – November 14, 2021

It is with great sadness and relief that we are announcing the passing of our dear father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and cousin.

Robert Alexander Dickson at the age of 76, left us on November 14, 2021, surrounded by his family.

Although it is difficult to let go, it gives us great pleasure to know he is at peace and reunited with his girls, the love of his life, Sharon Dickson (predeceased) and his daughter Michelle Rogers (predeceased).

Bob was born in Toronto to the late Raymond and Kathleen Dickson.

He leaves behind his one and only sibling Jim Dickson (Debbie), children, Kathy Dickson-Maw (Blaine predeceased), Roxanne Vollans, and Dan Dickson (Ashley).

Grandchildren, Kiley Maw (Ryan Harris), Bianca Cotton, Declan Quinn (Alexandria), Evan Dickson (Brooke) and Emma Dickson (Logan). Great grandchildren, Kyedin, Ava, and Xander Ball.

As well as his extended family and many friends…. Most significantly, Renate, Jesse, and Sue.

Bob was beyond blessed to have lived the life he had with his soulmate, Sharon. They were able to do so much and travel to so many places.

The memories that they created and shared are so close to all of our hearts.

Dad was so lost without his beautiful Sharon for the past 11 years. Just knowing they are back together makes us forever happy.

Dad’s last few years were difficult… he never wanted to be fussed over…he just wanted to be independent and have us follow “His schedule.”

He wasn’t one for change, he liked “His schedule” and thought we should like it too!  Bob was immensely proud of his family.

He was a man of few words… and he thought we talked too much! But he always enjoyed having everyone around as long as we didn’t interrupt the “schedule.”

Bob’s favourite place to be was at the pub having a cold one with his bar buddies, his second family, catching up on sports. It was devastating when his health declined and he could no longer make his daily trip to the pub to harass and tease the girls.

We are so thankful to all the PSW’s and nurses for making it all possible to keep Bob at home during a most difficult time….. the place he wanted to be and found some comfort.

To Declan, Sue, and Jessie for all going the extra mile and making sure dad had what he needed and then some. Rest easy dad, we all love you… until we meet again.

Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME , 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Friday, November 26th from 12:30 until time of Celebration of Life at 1:30 p.m.
