MINGILAS, Barbara -  Barbara Mingilas, age 87, passed away on December 16, 2021, at Michael Garron Hospital in Toronto, Canada.

She was born to George and Ruth French in Liverpool, England on May 3, 1934.

At the age of 21, Barbara left England for Canada, where she met her now late husband Joseph Mingilas.

Together they had one daughter, Shelley, and two grandchildren, Timothy and Brittany, who affectionately called her Nooners.

Though far in distance, she stayed close with her family in England, holding special relationships with her sister Hilary, nephew David and nieces Helen and Carolyn.

A vibrant soul who brought everyone into her circle, Barbara was loved by family and life-long friends, some from childhood, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Barbara had a quick wit and a sharp mind, and embraced a passion for travel and new experiences.

She was a voracious reader, and a self-proclaimed terrible baker. She lived life with an open-door policy; all were welcome, human and animal alike, and were greeted with open arms and a cup of tea (or a treat for the animal friends).

There will be no public viewing as the family will celebrate her life privately, where her ashes will be spread at one of her favourite places – by the red tree on the glade.

Barbara was a long-time supporter of Michael Garron Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the hospital that took excellent care of the family throughout the years.
