ONISTO, Silvano Onisto - November 23, 1927 - January 6, 2022 (age 94)
With sadness we announce Silvano died peacefully on January 6, 2022 in Uxbridge, Ontario.
Born in Asolo, a beautiful ancient town in northern Italy pre-dating Rome, he emigrated to Canada in 1950 in the hard times after the war to make a future.
He married in 1952 in Toronto and made it possible for his family and extended family to emigrate and establish themselves in Canada.
He worked hard and made a happy life for his family and lived well and long in the enjoyment of it.
He is remembered for his love of life, fishing, tireless devotion to his family and his trickster sense of humor.
He leaves behind his loving wife of nearly 70 years, Lina (nee Reginato) and his two children Lawrence (Delfina), Maria (Corrado), and his younger brother Giuseppe (Luigina); grandchildren: Katrina and Andre, Kathleen (Peter), Bruce (Kimberley), Matthew (Jenna), Eveline (Trevor), and Mairead; great grandchildren: Thomas, Atticus, and Matthew, Naomi and Sloane, James, and Natalie and Emma; and nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date when family can gather again safely.
