THORTON, Malcolm   - September 30, 1944 - January 8, 2022 (age 77)

Suddenly on Saturday, January 8, 2022 with his daughter, Jenny, by his side, Malcolm Thornton (77) was reunited with his beloved wife, best friend and love of his life, Marlene.

He will be remembered and missed greatly by his children, Malcolm (Joanna), Gwen (Andrew) and Jenny (Ross).

He was the proud grandad of Anthony, Jordyn, Mackenzie, Carson, Melissa, Allison, Ethan, Kacey, Jackson and Hudson. Brother of Carol (deceased) and Christy. Predeceased by his parents, June and Robert.

Malcolm and Marlene left their home in Scotland in 1967 to start a new life in Canada.

Malcolm worked hard his entire life as a tool and die machinist and retired from Exco Engineering in 2005.

He had a friendly face and though appeared tough, was a softy at heart. His Scottish accent was loved by all those who took care of him. He was a good, kind man and he was loved!

The family would like to thank the nurses and PSWs at Hillsdale Estates and Bowmanville Creek who have made his quality of life greater over the last few years.

A very sincere thank you to the Durham Paramedic crew who responded on Saturday.

He will be greatly missed by those who loved him most.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Nurses Foundation - CNF COVID-19 Fund for Nurses.

A private family service was held in Port Perry on Wednesday January 12, 2022.  His cremated remains will be put to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery, Prince Albert with his beloved wife.
