OTTAWAY, Jack Sidney (Jack) Ottaway    -  Passed suddenly in his 95th year, on January 25, 2022, at home.

Predeceased by his loving wife of 68 years Irma Ottaway and dear friends Gordon and Catherine Graylish.

He will be dearly missed by the Graylish family, Gordon (Anita), Ian Graylish (Lynn Hogarth), Joanne (Kent) Ford and their children.

Also missed by in-laws Tony Filipovitch, David Filipovitch (Tania), Janet Filipovitch (Carl), Stephen Mackey and their children.

Jack was a career employee with Shell Oil where he worked as a chemist retiring in 1982, he was very proud of being retired from Shell longer than he worked there.

He was also an avid traveller with numerous trips to the UK and enjoyed 28 cruises with Irma, Gord and Cathy taking them to places we only dream of.

As a young man he was one of the cornerstones of the newly formed NDP Party, how he loved to regale everyone with stories of these times.

The halls at Bowmanville Creek Retirement Community are much quieter today as Jack no longer cheers on his beloved Montreal Canadians or sings to the staff and fellow residents on his way to meals.

He loved to make people smile.

He will be sadly missed by all that knew him.
