Hambleton BonnieHAMBLETON, Bonnie Lee   -  April 8, 1949 – February 16, 2022

Peacefully passed away at home surrounded by family on February 16, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer.

Beloved daughter of Gwendolyn and the late Charles Arthur ‘Art’ Pesheau.

Loving wife of William Courtland Hambleton and devoted mother to Jessica (Drew).

Adored grandmother to William. Dear sister to Charles ‘Chuck’ (Susy) and Brian (Robin).

Bonnie will be remembered fondly by her extended family and friends.

Bonnie was an extremely thoughtful and loving person who was generous with her time and friendship.

She was always willing to help others, even those she did not know.

She was a strong force who always accomplished what she set her mind to with an affinity for overcoming challenges that she was expected to fail.

She was proud to be a university graduate during a time when so few women were encouraged to enroll.

It allowed her to become an exceptional and dedicated teacher, a job she loved even after she retired. However, the job she loved the most began in 2016 with the birth of her grandson, William.

She was overjoyed to be a grandmother and through her love and attention, easily solidified herself as William’s best friend.

The time they spent together will be cherished.

She will be remembered as a strong and beautiful mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend.

The family wishes to thank all the doctors, nurses, and personal support workers who helped Bonnie after her cancer diagnosis, and allowed her to stay home comfortably (Lakeridge Health, SE Health, Paramed, and Nurses Next Door).

An additional thank you to the many friends and family who provided comfort and support to Bonnie and her family during this time.  At Bonnie’s request, a service will not be held.

If desired, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Hospital for Sick Children.
