Perkin Albion DorisPERKIN-ALBION, Doris Dene  -
(March 20, 1925 - June 23, 2023)

 

The family is saddened to announce the passing of Doris Perkin at the age of 98, peacefully on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Lakeridge Health Hospital in Oshawa after a short illness.

 

Doris was the much-loved wife of the late Mervin William Perkin (1991) and the late Tom Albion (2007). 

 

She will be sadly missed by her sons Gary (late Kathleen) of Strathroy, Brian (Jennifer) of Perth and Bob (Lee) of Buckhorn.

 

Doris was the cherished grandmother of Marsha (Shawn) Pranger, Tricia (Chris) Michon, Derek (Mary Kathryn) Perkin, Kevin Perkin, Darcy Perkin, Jessica (Derek) Moore and Bobby Moore.

 

She will be dearly missed as well by her 8 great-grandchildren.

Doris will also be fondly remembered by her stepsons Stewart (Kim) of Calgary, Scott (Chris) of Port Stanley, Spencer (Nancy) of Oshawa and Sandy (Kim) of Calgary and their families.

 

Doris was predeceased by her parents Dr. Burton and Hazeldene (Hurst) Hodgins, brother Alan Hodgins, her aunt Rhea Hodgins, daughter-in-law Kathleen Perkin, grandson Ryan Perkin and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.  

 

Doris will be fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Pat Hodgins, her nephew David Perkin, as well as all her other nieces and nephews, family members and many friends. 

 

Doris worked as an occupational therapist at the Whitby Psychiatric Hospital and was an active member of the Oshawa Spinners & Weavers’ Guild and Northminster United Church ‘Come Double’ Club.

 

Family and friends are invited to a visitation for Doris at the  ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME , 124 King Street East in Oshawa (905) 433-4711, on Friday, June 30 from 10am – 11:30am. 

 

A Funeral Service will then be held in the chapel at 11:30am, followed by a reception. 

 

Interment at  MOUNT LAWN CEMETERY, Oshawa. 

 

In remembrance contributions are gratefully appreciated to Lakeridge Health Hospital, Northminster United Church or to a charity of choice.
