SCHULTZ, Sylvia Crawford Schultz   - We are saddened to announce the death of our mother, Sylvia Crawford Schultz, on July 15, 2023.

Sylvia was born in Toronto on June 26, 1938, and recently turned 85 years old.

She will be missed by her husband of 62 years, John; her sister, Margaret; her five children Catherine (Ron), Loy, Robyn, Jaime, and Jonathan (known as John in adulthood); her grandchildren – Loy, Evan, Stefan, Gracyn, Charlie (Vickie), Nicole, Jacob, Emily, and Jonathan; and her great-grandchildren - Noah, Austin, and Rylee.

Sylvia was a proud graduate of The Bishop Strachan School in Toronto (she was pleased that one of her granddaughters recently graduated from BSS), after which she moved to Montreal, to study nursing at the Royal Victoria Hospital.

Sylvia was an accomplished woman with many successful professions, starting her career as a registered nurse at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.

She volunteered at Lakeridge Hospital and served on its volunteer board for many years, was a long-time member of the Whitby Yacht Club (where she also loved being part of the Knife & Fork Club), and was a founding member of Whitby Arts and the Station Gallery.

The family kindly requests no flowers. Arrangements with Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery.

Please consider a donation in In lieu of flowers - we know that Sylvia would be thrilled if donations were made in her memory to the Lakeridge Health Foundation.
