Vallant RoyVALLANT, Roy Leonard “Roy V” –  It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Roy Vallant, son of the late Ernest and Annie Vallant on December 29, 2023 at Thorntonview Long Term Care.

Roy will be dearly missed by his daughter Lori (Ron) Frauts, grandson Adam (Cassandra) Frauts, great-granddaughters Zoey and Delilah Frauts, and his “Peanuts”, granddaughter Alissa Frauts and her husband Dylan Hoeker.

Roy is also survived by his brother Dan (Deb) Vallant, his close cousin Ted (Eleanor) Thorndyke, and his beloved niece Wendy (Phil) McCrea as well as many other nieces, nephews and their children.

Roy is predeceased by his wife Helen (neé Waltham), sister Audrey (Herman) Parish and his nephew David Parish.

Second only to his love for his family was Roy’s dedication to the program.

He was very proud of his 57 years and very appreciative of the many, many friends he made along his journey. All of you and his sobriety meant everything to him.

A very special thank you to Bill I. and Pete M. for your love and support. Roy was also a dedicated Montreal Canadiens fan and was known to some as Mr. Montreal. Go Habs!

A special thank you also to all the wonderful dedicated staff of Corbet Court at Thorntonview for your kind and loving care of Roy, even when he was at his most stubborn!

There will be a memorial service for Roy on January 14, 2024 at 11am at the Alano Club (200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa).

Roy will be laid to rest with his wife Helen in a private service at a later date.

Those who wish to do so, may make a donation in Roy’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.

He was an inspiration to many and he will be missed. “One Day At A Time”.

Arrangements entrusted with W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL .
